One way to forget about a drive
I haven’t seen Matty or Summer in about eight years−since we worked on the train together in Alaska. After I arrived at their home, they took me on a quick tour of their beautiful garden with views of the surrounding mountains and we sat around the kitchen, catching up over a Corona.
Somehow we got to talking about the river, and it was thrown out there, “want to go rafting today?” We looked at the clock, looked at each other and rallied.
Within an hour we were on the Gallatin River.
It was one hell of a way to forget about seven hours of driving.
UPDATE: New photos added! Matty is actually a photographer on the river; he takes pics of the tourists who run the Gallatin. His boss happened to be on the shore when we were heading down, so he took some more photos.
The professional photos are mixed throughout roughly in order.
